Linda began working at the Renaissance in September 2008. A lifetime Cleveland native, she moved to the Mansfield area in 2006 to be with her (soon to be) husband and to plan for their upcoming wedding. "The first time I came to the Renaissance was during a bridal show at the Holiday Inn next door. My mother-in-law brought me over to show me the theatre, and I remember the feeling when I first came through the door was absolute awe. I couldn't get over how beautiful and opulent the theatre was. I am still in awe of the beauty and history in this building. I knew I wanted to spend a lot of time here." She signed up to volunteer at the theatre, but never got the call to come in. "They always had enough volunteers available to work the shows, so I never got called in. What a wonderful testimonial to the generosity of the community, but also the atmosphere of the theatre."
Before coming to the Ren, she worked as a secretary for the State of Ohio at the 179 Air National Guard for two years. Still looking for volunteer opportunities in the community, she attended a volunteer orientation at the Renaissance on the same day a job opened in the box office. "I applied on a whim and was offered the job the next day. It was a leap of faith for me, to leave the safety of a coveted state job to come here, but it's something I have not looked back on. I've always been a believer in the importance of the arts, be it theatre, music, painting, photography, literature, dance...these things add to the culture and enrichment of a community. It's thrilling to be a small part of something so important."
Before moving to Mansfield, Linda worked for many years at Cuyahoga County Public Library. While in Cleveland, she also volunteered her time on political campaigns, at local animal rescue shelters and participating in numerous community fundraising 5k runs.
Linda lives in Bellville with her husband Jon, their dog Jet Michelle and their cat, Frank Chambers.
