Mr. Domka started violin at the age of seven under the tutelage of Mrs. Elva Newdome and played in the Mansfield Youth Symphony under the direction of Mr. Eddie Chiudioni. He participated yearly in the OMEA and Ribbon festivals as well as the occasional OMEA competition in both violin and piano. Mr. Domka graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Music Education with a specialization in String Pedagogy. While at The Ohio State University, he continued his violin studies with Professor Michael Davis and studied String Pedagogy with Dr. Robert Gillespie. He also played under the baton of Professor Marshall Haddock. He has taught in the public school system as well as in the private setting. This is Mr. Domka’s first year as director of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings. Currently Mr. Domka teaches a private Violin and Viola studio and is a very busy stay at home dad. When time allows, he may be spotted playing with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra or with his String Quartet. He and his wife Tami have three children, Makenna age 8, Mitchel age 6 and Gavin age 5. Two of the three children are currently studying the violin with the third hoping to start very soon. He and his family attend the Apostolic Christian Church on Middle Bellville Rd.
