Technical Requirements

STAGE

Minimum stage size acceptable for main stage production is 35’ wide by 25’ deep with the Ideal being 40’ wide by 30’ deep. Neos needs 8’ to 10’ wing space on one (preferably both) side and a crossover upstage. Preferably, a black Marley floor will be provided by the Presenter; other arrangements can be negotiated. An operating fly space (in most cases)

Soft goods

  • Black masking (legs and borders) for typically 3-4 wings
  • Cyc (white or pale blue)
  • Main curtain

LIGHTING

Lighting is the most important technical aspect of the production. Adequate lighting is needed
to present the best quality show. If the following suggestions are not available from your
inventory, some equipment may need to be rented. All units should work well and have gel
frames. A Genie or ladder should be available at all times.

  • FOH: Ceiling: 12-15 units
  • Box Booms (2) 9-12 each unit
  • On Stage: Booms: 4-6 with 3 to 6 instruments each.

You will be provided with a plot matching your instruments, plus any additional instruments
needed, so it is important that the information provided is accurate.

Control: A computer control council, like ETC or Strand, with the number of control
channels at least the number of dimmers

SOUND

  • An FOH system with quality stereo reproduction. At least 2 on stage monitors.
  • Headset system from backstage to light and sound operators. Monitors to dressing rooms preferred.
  • CD player required (will have cassette tape backup).

Residency and Special Events

Neos Dance Theatre is dedicated to dancing in unlikely and unusual spaces: as
Part of our outreach programs we have built a repertoire that fits into any setting.
The requirements and fees listed are for MAIN STAGE PRODUCTIONS ONLY.
Other repertoire can be done with little or no lighting depending on the needs of the
Presenter, and at a negotiable cost.

Performance/residency fee schedule
